C.A.M.S. acknowledges the GTR XU-1. 1433 units were built by November 1970.

3 Sep 1970 -

Service bulletin to the dealers from GMH with modifications to existing XU-1s. New axle tube baffles, and new camshaft.

21 Sep 1970 -

Service bulletin to the dealers from GMH with modifications to existing XU-1s. Rear suspension bump stop alteration, clutch disc and pressure plate modifications, brake booster vacuum hose re-routing.

28 Sep 1970 -

Service bulletin to the dealers from GMH with modifications to existing XU-1s. Modifications to front suspension alignment settings, modified baffle in fuel tank, plus new wheel spacers. Instructions to reshape the fender lip inwards on wheel arch to accommodate larger tyres,

C.A.M.S. acknowledges the LJ GTR XU-1 with the new 202 (3310 cc) motor, with bigger carburettors and new camshaft.

C.A.M.S. acknowledges the changes made to the track measurement of LJ GTR XU-1.

1 Jul 1972 -

General Motors Holden puts forward a submission to C.A.M.S. to change the final drive configuration to a Detroit non-spin differential.

10 Aug 1972 -

C.A.M.S. acknowledges the new "Sprintmaster" alloy wheels and new spacers for the GTR XU-1.

29 Aug 1972 -

C.A.M.S. acknowledges the update to the LJ GTR XU-1 model with a run of 200 units (Bathurst Specials), with heavy duty springs, lightened flywheel, new camshaft "HX" and a optional 3.55:1 final drive ratio.

15 Jun 1972 -

C.A.M.S. acknowledges new optional gear box ratios.

14 Jul 1973 -

C.A.M.S. acknowledges new piston assembly and intake manifold.

15 Aug 1973 -

C.A.M.S. acknowledges the following modifications to the updated 1973 GTR XU-1s:
  1. New port openings to intake manifold to suit carburettors.
  2. New cylinder and case assembly.
  3. New connecting rods and big end nuts and bolts.
  4. New bearings and pistons.
  5. Flywheel assembly.
  6. New harmonic balancer and revised radiator fan.
  7. New cylinder head assembly and larger intake valves.
  8. Tubular exhaust manifold.
  9. Fine spline axles.

23 Aug 1973 -

General Motors Holden publishes the new part numbers for dealers.

28 Sep 1973 -

General Motors Holden publishes the last 150 Torana XU-1 engine numbers (Bathurst Specials). No more GTR XU-1s were produced.

Oct 1973 -

General Motors Holden releases to dealers special service bulletins for the new "Bathurst Specials" Torana GTR XU-1.
